BioMicroLab is a specialist robotics/instrumentation manufacturer, with products designed for the efficient handling and processing of samples in 96-tube storage systems. Operating since 2005, BioMicrolab launched with the XL20 tube sorter and 2D bar-code scanners. The product range has now expanded to include:

The tube readers/scanner from BioMicroLab will decode 2D-Barcoded tubes from all leading manufacturers including Thermo Fisher (ABgene, Matrix and Nunc), Micronic and FluidX. The readers can be interfaced with existing LIMS, remotely operated by Active-X commands and data out put is via csv files. The SampleScan software provides the ability to rescan and/or manually enter identification code in advent of mis-reads

XL Tube Sorters
The three models of tube sorter can be customeised to accommodate a wide range of requirements and budget. From a simple 9 rack tube sorter, programmed from LIMS storage data, to instruments that can check and ensure the correct sample is selected and that tube does contain material either by weight or by optical inspection.
The XL9 (platform space for 9 racks) and XL20 (platform space for 20 racks) can be configured as:
- a basic sorter
- barcode readers, 1D and 2D,
- with analytical balance to weight sample
- sample level inspection
- with de-ionisers for improved balance readability
The flagship XL100 with a 20 rack capacity can be customised to work with a wide range on non SBS storage, integration with other robotic systems and process tubes from 1ml to 16ml capacity.

Rack Thawing Station
Stand alone unit for the rapid (less than 20 minute) thawing and de-frosting of SBS formatted sample storage systems, both 96-microtubes or deepwell storage plates(blocks). Compatiable with Thermo Fisher (ABgene, Matrix & Nunc), Micronic and FluidX racks.
