Micronic are the original manufacturers of 96 tube/microtube storage systems and have just celebrated 25 years of manufacturing. With an extensive range of tubes, rack and sealing option the Micronic product range has an option to meet all possible laboratory sample storage requirements, from ambient to vapour phase liquid Nitrogen.
Sample Storage Tubes
Standard tube capacity includes 0.5, 0.75, 1.1 and 1.4mL tubes, in either standard or snaplock formats. With the snaplock format, tubes are locked into the rack, enabling fluids to be decantered by simply inverting the rack and tubes remain in place in the event that a rack is dropped during use. For specialist storage requirements, larger tube sizes up to 2.5 and 7mL plastic along with 1.2mL glass tubes complete the product range. For light sensitive samples the 0.5, 0.75, 1.1, 1.4 and 7.5ml tubes are available in black polypropylene with black rack covers for both the Loborack-96 and Roborack-96

Sealing options
Micronic sample tubes can be sealed with the following options:
TPE Capcluster Mats, Thermo Plastic Elastomer plugs in SBS format facilitate sealing all 96 tubes is a single process. Providing storage conditions from -80°C to +80°C the versatile capclusters plugs can be multi-pierced with needles. For manual sample access with pipette tips the TPE Capcluster mats area available with a split septum and special caps for lyophilisation complete TPE cap range.
EVA (Ethyl Vinyl Acetate) is a cost effective alternative plug to the TPE Capcluster, also in SBS format, the EVA plus meet US and European Food contact regulations and are autoclavable.
Screw Caps
For the maximum sample security, screw caps with silicon ‘O’ rings provide the maximum temperature storage range from vapour phase liquid Nitrogen to +100°C. Micronic Screw caps are autoclavable, automation friendly and available in several colours.
Barcoded tubes
Micronic provide the option of two 2D barcodeing systems, the standard generic 2D data matrix and Traxis, Traxis is unique to Micronic and provides absolute assurance that every tube coding in the biobank is unique. Both code matrixes are laser etched onto the base of the tube and with 25% redundancy in the code matrix, there by ensuring barcodes are permanent and virtually indestructible.
All Micronic products are in class 7 clean room production facilities and are certified to be RNase/DNase and pyrogen free. For added security, product can be gamma sterilised.
